Dallas, Texas, is lucky that it has a very civically
active population. Many of Dallas’s
more than 1,100,000 citizens engage in some sort of volunteerism, leadership,
or local government role. The city has several major civic events like charity
fundraisers, city cleanups, and holiday meal service to needy families. Like
most of his friends and neighbors in Dallas,
Guillermo Perales loves to give back to the community and to help those in
need.
Guillermo Perales sits on many boards in Dallas. A sample of the local and national
organizations he supports includes: Southern Methodist University 21st
Century Council, Burger King Diversity Advisory Board, the Dallas Assembly, the
New American Alliance, and the National Franchise Association. In his volunteer
work, Guillermo Perales likes to support educational institutions. He is a
member of the board of advisors for his Alma Mater, Institutio Tecnologico y de
Estudios Superios de Monterrey in Mexico.
Guillermo Perales is also passionate about supporting the
Latino community in and around Dallas.
The Latin-American/ Dallas Fort Worth fund, which he cofounded, supports
programs and initiatives that benefit the Latino community in Dallas/
Fort Worth.
Guillermo Perales has been named a major leader in the Latino community, and he
uses that position to garner support and interest for community and charitable
events. He has also created a Certificate of Achievement Award program, which
motivates young people to stay in school.
Guillermo Perales’s love of giving back extends to his
business as well. Perales’s company, Sun Holdings, LLC, emphasizes volunteering
and charitable giving in its corporate culture. For example, Sun Holdings’ fast
food franchises serve more than 50,000 free meals each year to veterans on
Veteran’s Day. As Sun Holdings grows to
a company with nearly 500 franchises, they are able to do more and more for the
communities in which they work.
