A Profile of Sun Holdings CEO Guillermo Perales

Guillermo Perales is the largest minority franchise operator and is among the 10 largest operators in the USA, and he is the President and CEO of Sun Holdings LLC. After receiving his education from a university in Mexico and his MBA from Texas A&M, Guillermo Perales went into business for himself, obtaining a Golden Corral franchise with a $100,000 SBA loan he was able to acquire. From that humble beginning, Guillermo Perales has grown his company into the largest Latino franchisee in the United States and one of the largest overall, managing and operating over 400 franchises from Popeye’s to Cici’s to Burger King and more. All this, Guillermo Perales was able to accomplish in the span of a decade and a half, an impressive feat that has earned the businessman a slew of awards, notably Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year for 2008.

In 2012, the Latino Hotel and Restaurant Association gave Guillermo Perales a lifetime achievement award for his amazing successes. Through it all, Guillermo Perales has maintained his trademark blend of confidence and poise, inspiring those around him to great things through his tireless energy and drive.

Guillermo Perales operates 72 Popeye’s franchises, making him the second largest franchisee of that company. He operates 172 Burger Kings, making him the fourth largest operator of that franchise, and the largest minority operator. In just the past year, Guillermo Perales‘s company has expanded from 250 restaurants to over 400, and the growth is exponential. Guillermo Perales does it all with an integrity and a commitment to quality that make him truly exceptional, one of the community’s most unique leaders.
